Day 1: Discover the Tambopata Rainforest!

  • Arrive in Puerto Maldonado, capital of Madre de Dios, and join a 2-hour bus and a 1/2 boat journey to the lodge. A local welcome drink and a short friefing about the lodge will be served.
  • Collpas Tambopata Inn awaits – a spacious friendy eco-lodge, with bar, a swimming pool, and buffet service in the limit of National Reserve of Tambopata, being the fartest lodge from Puerto Maldonado surrounded by monkeys and several bird species.
  • Accommodation includes rooms from 24 mts to 68 mts suites with a private bathroom and an open window facing the forest.
  • Your stay includes three meals daily, teas, coffee, guided excursions and activities, refreshments upon arriving, and transfers to and from the airport. We assign guides on private small groups of 10:1
  • This afternoon join the introductory a two to three-kilometer hike in a primary forest, information about the most important medicinal plants and the same time GREAT chances to spot seven different species of monkeys and different birds that will make your jungle walk unforgettable. At The visit to our 50 mts canopy tower will complete this first experience.
  • You will have the option of taking the boat in the evening and spot withe and black caymans along the Tambopata River, is an Amazin exprience to see the reptail in its main habitat

DAY 2: Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick, a Unique place in the world!

  • Wildlife in the Amazon takes advantage of the first lights of the day as it is cooler, so we do. Even if you are on vacation there will be some activities that our guides encourage you to make it very early in the morning and it’s worth it.
  • All year around, dozens of large macaws and hundreds of parrots congregate on this large river bank in a raucous and colorful spectacle that inspired a National Geographic cover story od course much better in the dry season. Discretely located sixty to eighty meters from the cliff, we will observe Green-winged, Scarlet, and Blue-and-gold Macaws and several species of smaller parrots descend to ingest clay. Outings are at dawn when the lick is most active. Breakfast will be served in front of the macaw Clay Lick Chuncho
  • We will propose to go for a river adventure, we will go for Kayaking in the river or the stream depending on your expectation, is a beautiful activity also with big chances to see Capibaras, turttles and river birds during this two hours activity.
  • Hiking out at night when most of the insects are active is our plan. Much easier to find are frogs with shapes and sounds as bizarre as their natural histories. Spiders, tarantulas and even maybe a snake is possible to see.

Day 3: Jungle walk to the mammal clay lick in the Tambopata Reserve

  • This five to eight kilometer trail covers the prototypical rain forest with immense trees crisscrossed by creeks and ponds. Amongst the figs, ceibas, and shihuahuacos we will go for the mammal clay lick …Squirrel, Brown Capuchin, and red howler Monkeys as well as peccaries. Collpas Tambopata Inn is located within this habitat.
  • Your guide will explain to you every little detail of survivol tips if you ever get lost in the amazon rain forest.
  • GO FOR FISHING : The waters of Tambopata River offers us a variety of fishes such as Payaras, Pacu (Giant Piranha), Catfish (Zungaros, Piros, Surubim, etc.) We usually fish for 2 hours in our third afternoon, with our local methots we always have really good chances to catch some. If you want to go for piranhas we are happy to do it.

Day 4: Water habitats and Ecology walk

  • A different kind of flood plain forest on a half-day activity is available. Crossing the Tambopata River and a 2 hours walk and will eventually reach to Quiroz Lake, a small lake with alligators, turtlles active even at day time, a nice jungle walk into the Tambopata national Reserve where we will focus on forest and ecology.
  • A local Farm is a private local area full of local products such us: Bananas, plantains, Yuca “jungle potato”, citrus fruits, corn, and many more plants with medicinal properties will be showed by your local guide in our last jungle afternoon before we say good bye.
  • You will have the second option of a night walk when most of the mammals are active but rarely seen. Is much easier to find are frogs with shapes and sounds as bizarre as their natural histories.

Day 5: Thank you!

  • Depending on your departure time we can offer you and optional jungle walk to answer all tipe of questions that you might have regarding your jungle experience.
  • It is time to say goodbye, as the expedition comes to an end.
  • Your visit will make a direct contribution to Wired Amazon and the National Reserve of Tambopata.
  • You will take the journey back to the city to the airport for your national flight onwards
