After a good breakfast, we will make the journey from Puerto Maldonado to Sandoval Lake, once you are ready we will move to the main port and begin within the reserve, Our destination is the famous and beautiful Sandoval Lake.
This is an oxbow lake in Tambopata national reserve. After approximately 45 minutes by boat, we started a 3 km hike through the forest until you reach the shore of the Lake. Since starting our tour we will visit this beautiful body of water, the place is spectacular, many birds, very good opportunity to see a lots of monkeys of several species such as the red howler monkey, brown capuchin, squirrel monkey, dusky tity and saddle back tamarin.
We install in our partner lodge, and return to the Lake to receive one of the most beautiful sunsets of the Amazon, we’ll stay until the evening on the Lake, because in the dark night you will be able to see the black Caiman is the largest of the rainforest crocodiles, reaching more than 5 m long, and they love the Lakes. With flashlights you can observe them closely and take good photos.

Day 2: Sandoval Lake into the amazon !
Waking up very early and highly recommended, will leave at 5:30 in the morning to visit again the Sandoval Lake, in a beautiful sunrise and awakening of many of the animals that are very active this morning. Also we’ll have great chance to see the Giant river Otters. 50% of chances to see them.
We will cross the lake and for a 2 hours walk in a first growth forest to have some more chances to see more of flora and fauna into the Tambopata National Reserve, Good information abut local economic activities and medicnal plants will be offered by your local guide. In the evening we will offer you a nice and interesting night walk for night creatures: insects, frogs, and maybe snakes possible to see.
Dia 3: Giant River Otters !
Depending on your departure time we can offer you and optional jungle walk to or another canoe tour around the lake to answer all tipe of questions that you might have regarding your jungle experience.
It is time to say goodbye, as the expedition comes to an end.
Your visit will make a direct contribution to Wired Amazon and the National Reserve of Tambopata.
You will take the journey back to the city to the airport for your national flight onwards
